Learning -
Because making a video game is a difficult and often confusing process, we will be taking the first month and a half to two months of school for learning the in's and out's of the game engine we will be using. The game engine we will be using throughout the school year is Game Maker, a fairly simple software for making 2D video games. If you have any suggestions for game engines or topics to go over I (club manager) would love to hear them so please tell me in a meeting or email me outside of school.

Development -
The club's members are divided into groups of four to five who will all be assigned a genre and will create a game of their choosing within that genre. Most projects will have a two month dead line so simplicity is highly stressed in the making of your game. At the end of each project the games made will be compared to see what can be improved and what was well designed. Learning and working on your game outside of the club is also highly encouraged since it's very hard to work with the time we have during meetings.
Release -
At the end of the year all the games that were made over the course of the year will be put on disc and released around the school for free to the students and some of the best will be put on the clubs website for others outside of the school to download for free. We can't release the games for a profit due to legal reasons, so don't expect anything like that.
